One of the worst things you can do is drive a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. People die each and every year from people drunk driving. That is why it is important to either designate a sober driver, or just plan to not drink at all. The person chosen to be the designated driver (DD) should be completely sober.
For people that are worried that they may be over the limit, the best solution is to not drive at all. Take an Uber, take a Lyft, and if you’re a technological dinosaur – call a cab. For those without a Breathalyzer, there is a free Blood Alcohol Calculator that will help determine if you are sober enough to drive. This website allows you to enter in the types of drinks you are having, your body weight and other information in order to approximately calculate what your blood alcohol content could be. This is a great free tool to people that not only go out often, but maybe have too much to drink and want to watch their BAC levels. The application and website is very easy and will keep you not only safe, but the people around you safe as well.
Checking your approximate BAC through this website is easy. Simply enter your age, how much you weigh, your sex, how long you have been drinking, and if you have had any glasses of water. After doing that, the program goes into more detail on the amount of drinks you have had; for instance, whether you have had any shots, cocktails, beer, or glasses of wine. After inputting all of the required information, the system will calculate and it gives you your blood alcohol content and if it would be considered a DUI.
This is useful information for anyone planning on consuming alcohol and is contemplating getting behind the wheel. Not only that, but it is an interesting way to help reduce the amount of alcohol you drink. Whatever the case may be, this website can help save lives and even save you the high costs of being charged with a DUI.
At the end of the day, it is all about being a responsible adult and having a good time, but within the legal parameters. People enjoy drinking with their friends, at a restaurant, sporting event or even at a bar, but more importantly we all enjoy life. Be safe, be intelligent, and have a good time without causing anyone, or yourself, bodily harm.
